I’ve always been athletic, played a lot of sports. Before I started weight training, my exercise consisted of cardio 3-4 times a week and a hiit workout 1-2 a week. I did this together with calorie counting to try to get leaner. But then I really didn’t see differences in my body, in fact my weight would yo yo, because while I don’t eat much rice or pasta I loved my sweets. I was a slave to my calorie counting always trying to be on a deficit, and was the type that would spend hours running if I had a sinful meal the day before. Looking back, it wasn’t a healthy way to live.
That was the past. I wanted real physical changes on my body, I wanted to get leaner all around, and feel less bloated. I met Ida and she started telling me about carb night solution – so I gave it a try, stuck to 30g net carbs everyday, had carbs at night every 6-7 days, but still kept to my all cardio workout plan. I saw some differences but it slowed down after a while.
It was really only until I maintained a low carb diet and started a 3x a week weight training plan where my body started to transform. Before I thought body toning was achieved through lifting baby weights, but was I wrong. Only when I started lifting heavy, did I see my body start to tone. The progress was so notable especially when I started to add in IF, and carb cycling. I could really see my waist shaping up, my arms toning, and cuts developed where I’d never expected I’d see before. I also developed better endurance when running and cycling.
But for me the real pay off in how grit girl gang helped me with my diet and workout plans, is the liberation you feel that you’re in control. I learned that it’s not about limiting what you can eat but rather controlling it so that you eat it at a time where you can use it as fuel, it’s not about punishing yourself by working out to burn the calories, but rather using what you ate to fuel your workout.
This control over your body and the outcome is the ultimate feeling of liberation 🙂 thanks grit girl gang
